Shatterproof

To those people in my life who just keep going. No matter what comes your way, this one’s for you!

My Gramma was like that. She lost her husband to a heart attack and was left to raise her three young children all by herself. As a mother myself now I can only imagine what that loss would have been like, and what incredible strength she must have had to find within herself to move through those difficult and painful years.

But of course I didn’t really see that when I was a kid. All I saw was an awesome woman enjoying life, sitting in the sun smoking her cigarettes, drinking gin & tonic and musing at her Grandchildren. She was strong and happy and SHATTERPROOF!

I want to be Shatterproof. I want to keep going with all my broken bits showing. I want to be like my Grandma, and drink-up the best parts of life when I’m lucky enough to enjoy them.

Thank you Maida! for all the lessons your story has taught me… and all the moments we got to enjoy together. I will love you forever.

And to those of you out there who have endured through impossible times I say THANK YOU!
Thank you for showing me what being shatterproof really looks like, and inspiring me to find my own strength.

Shatterproof is out today!

✯ PAY WHAT YOU CAN ✯

Rachel Sage, Kris Delmhorst, Amanda Walther, & Della Mae

This Friday I will be joining this stellar group of artists for 'Shut In & Sing' - an online music festival! Created by Natalia Zukerman and Kelly McCartney, this festival features outstanding independent artists from all over the world, and the list just keeps on growing. My 30 minute set starts at 9pm, and it will feature songs that I wrote for the movie Walk With Me . I can't wait to share these tunes with you and feel connected in this difficult time.

I hope to see you there,

xoxo Amanda

‘Kennedy’ Music Video

Check out my latest video project:

music video for Toronto’s Kennedy Road

The official video for “Kennedy” is now out! An ode to Sheila & Brian’s teenage times in Brampton and Scarborough, featuring Agincourt Mall, Sonny’s, Holy Spirit School, an 80’s Volvo with a turbo button, and suburbia in all its glory. It was such a blast being behind the camera for this one.
Full debut album coming October 2019!
